Alexander Steel MRICS

Chairman

Alex is a Member of the RICS and has more than 44 years of experience in the development and construction industry, 37 of which have been at Director level or above. He was Director of Taylor Woodrow Homes between 1979 and 1985 before joining Tulloch Group as a Director in 1986 to expand the business in the central belt of Scotland.

In 1996 he became Managing Director of Robison & Davidson and he remained in this role until 2001 when he was one of the founders of Ashleigh (Scotland). He led this business for 10 years taking it from a new start company to a business with over 300 staff which had a turnover in excess of £60 million within 7 years.

In 2011 Alex left the construction company to form Ashleigh Alba Group. As with all of Alex’s other roles, Ashleigh Alba Group grew quickly down to his drive to get things done, his construction background and his experience in all types of development situations.

In 2014 Ashleigh Alba Group merged with Crucible Developments to form Crucible Alba Group and Alex became Chairman of the new company. Alex works with the Development Directors on a day to day basis lending his experience and know-how to each of the development projects.
